Happy Builder Feedback:
”When I grabbed these a month ago, I figured it would be one of those things I download but never actually completed.....however, after I made the first few cuts, your plans were so awesome and easy to follow....the thing practically came together by itself. I've never done anything like this before.......I've never done anything with wood beyond building a bookshelf......but your blueprint was so great!” -CryptoDragon

It was a big surprise, we broke it in with a CoS session on Sunday. Quite an upgrade from an old wobbly 8 person poker table with no felt. Thanks again, super fun project.”

So you want to build your very own D&D gaming table. Well, this is the quickest and easiest way to get started. Download this 3D SketchUp Model to reference for your build. SketchUp is a free web-based drafting program and you can conveniently explore the entire table in glorious 3D. Painstakingly built to the exact specs of the table this model already has the primary measurements laid out but you can use SketchUp tools to measure literally any part of the table. Each build stage has been separated into “tagged” layers for easy navigation and build notes on each of the components of the table. Because it has been reconstructed in 3D, should you want to make customizations to the model, you can with relatively straightforward tools available in SketchUp and a few YouTube tutorials.

This table has been designed by tabletop players FOR tabletop players, everything has been considered for ease of use, convenience, and comfort. Considerations like the player cubbies fitting standard clipboards for character sheets, a shared center cubby that perfectly fits D&D rulebooks, etc. We have hosted these designs in the hopes that it may save you hours upon hours of planning that it took to us to consider every single convenience while avoiding annoyances (like not being able to reach the center to move minis).

As a bonus in addition to the 3D model we have also included:

  1. A video tour of our table - Included in this package is a short video tour outlining special accommodations I had to make for the table and other various “damn, I wish I knew this beforehand” kinds of tidbits of information. You can benefit from and avoid all of my own frustrations!

  2. A SketchUp tutorial - of the very few features and functions actually required to navigate what can appear to be an overwhelming 3D program, when in actuality, 2-3 navigation buttons and 2 features are all that is needed to get the majority of the benefit from 3D designs.

  3. Inventory List - I have listed out all of the other various elements of the build. How many boards did I use? Screws? Stain? Other hardware? It’s all here.

  4. (Work in Progress) Build Instructions - Access to a google doc you are free to make comments within where I am working on step-by-step instructions as time allows. This is not exhaustive (as it is being recounted from memory but should provide guidance on your build.

  5. And so much more! - There isn’t anymore, hell, is this not enough? If you do have any additional questions you may email me directly.

100% of your purchase goes to helping support the Hook and Chance podcast with hosting fees, Adobe subscriptions, etc. We are exceedingly grateful for your support in keeping the show sustainable.

DISCLAIMERS - I am not a professional designer or woodworker, though the table is structurally sound and has served us well for many years. SketchUp is a browser-based 3D design tool that is 100% required to get value from these plans. You can find it at app.sketchup.com, take a look before purchase. I am happy to help others bring their tables to life and provide as much support as I can. This is not our primary focus, however, so “customer support” cannot be guaranteed. Due to the nature of digital files, refunds cannot be offered. You will need archive software like the free 7Zip to open the file that you’ll get after purchase.
