Create Conflict with Four Corner Opposition

Rich Plots Without Mental Chaos

Four corner opposition was explored in John Truby's book The Anatomy of Story. This method of writing explains how a DM could easily lay out an interesting web of conflict for players in a straightforward way. All of this is based on themes and values that actually matter to the player characters and players. No more will players be uninspired to go after your intricately planned baddie, your unique side characters, or feel bored during the final showdown because they didn't care about the conflict in the first place.

Curious how it works? Check this assessment of Mad Max: Fury Road.

Themes have been established for the story to be told (granted this has been obviously simplified, as there is some other themes present in the film like violence and feminism).

Walk through the movie mentally and notice that each of these characters come into conflict over these themes based on their opposing values.

Get it? No? Well this episode explains it all.

In this episode we also spotlight 3 Kickstarters that caught our eye.
